Town of Rockland Resources

The Town of Rockland was formed in 1809; taken from the town of Neversink.

In 1909, for the centennial celebration, a pamphlet was printed giving details of the town's settlement, the text of which is transcribed here, The Early Settling of Rockland. Thanks to Wilmer Sipple for the loan of a copy of the pamphlet.

Please note: town historians often DO NOT have access to genealogical files, but can be helpful in relating geographic and place name information about the township and its historic development.
